At Fanari Villas Hotel Restaurant and Bar, guests will find one of the most extensive wine lists on the island, offering a wide selection of Santorini wines, as well as excellent wines from other regions in Greece. Our list includes both white and red table wines, dessert wines and champagnes to choose from.

White Wines

  • Κasteli (Ε. Κaramolegos)

    Kasteli is created by fusing the Assyrtiko, Athiri and Aidani varieties, grown on vineyards on the island. These varieties are cultivated using the traditional technique. A limited number
    of bottles of Kastelli is produced.
  • Αssyrtiko–Santorini (Santo Wines)
    Santorini wine from the mountainous vineyards in Pyrgos
    taste: dry, rich and full-bodied
    color: white-yellow
    bouquet: citrus fruit with highlights of white flowers
    vol: 12,5 %
    variety: Αssyrtiko 100%
    Best with: spicy seafood dishes, served at 11° C, due to its sharpness, dryness, and green apple nose.

    Made with the mountainous Assyrtiko grape, perhaps the most aromatic variety in the Mediterranean region, which is grown on the volcanic slopes of Santorini Greece.
  • Μoschofilero (Boutari)                
    Wine from Mantineia in the Peloponnese

    bouquet: white rose, lemon, melon and skin of orange

    variety: Moschofilero
    Best with: seafood, fish and poultry, served at 10-12° C. Also ideal with fruit.

    Moschofilero Boutari is produced from grapes that grow in mountainous vineyards in Mantineia, at an altitude of 650 meters. The dry cultivation system produces white wine
    with low alcohol content, high acidity levels, distinctive sharpness, and fresh fruity bouquet.

    Nichteri Barrel is a characteristic Santorinian wine. It is produced from grapes of the Athiri and Aidani varieties and matures in oak barrels, producing in a wine with an intense, rich body and a unique aftertaste.

    This delightful wine from Santo Wines was created from the aromatic Assyrtiko grapes of the Santorinian soil and matured in new bordelaise barrels. A wine for the most demanding palates and connoisseurs.

  • Grande Reserve-Naoussa (Boutari)

    Best with: game, red meat in spicy sauces, and spicy cheeses, served at 18° C.

    Grande Reserve won the gold metal in the International Competition of Wine DETROP ’03,
    the silver metal in the Great International Wine Award Mundus Vini ’03, and the bronze metal in the Challenge International du Vin ’03. The Xinomavro is produced using the same traditional methods since 1879, aging in oak barrels and bottles for 4 years.

    On the slopes of Mt. Pindos, the vineyards reach an altitude of 950 meters. The famous Cabernet Sauvignon variety blended with the Nemea Agiorgitiko, produces Katogi Averof, which ages in oak barrels and bottles in the Averof family’s wine cellars in Metsovo, for 3 years.

    Megas Oenos has won the following medals:
    1995 –Silver in International Wine Challenge, 1997 –Prowein 2000, International Lotwein– Cuvees Weinwirtschaft, 1996 –Beverage Testing Institute Tasting Com. Highly recommended, 1998 –Vin de pays, 1 ½ star, Prowein 2001.This wine is a combination of the varieties Agiorgitiko and Cabernet Sauvignon found in the old vineyards of mountainous Argolida. It is characterized by its classical red vinification -maceration prolongee – and its aging in new French oak barrels for 20 months
